Om Annica

"Simple things attracts me".
Annica is sitting in her studio among sculptures and paintings.

Her art speaks in a clear language, it´s her stories. Annica Viktoria Waara was born 1983, in the landscape of Lapland, the very north of Sweden. At a very young age, she was surrounded by arts and crafts. She studied her parents work and quickly picked up the art of working with reindeer-skin. During the years, she developed her own unique form of art, using this special material.

From her life-experience and her art-school studies, her paintings has a modern and contemporary feel yet stems from her traditional sami heritage. Annica tells us about her travels with friends and family through the majestic world of the mountains, with its enchanted forests, where she seeks peace and inspiration. Annica is working in other materials as well, such as clay, porcelain and different fabrics, where she also expresses the same rich heritage.
All of Annica's work shows her genuine compassion for the arts and it shines like the mighty northern lights.
